Change AppStore Language on iPhone/iPad [HowTo]

Changing AppStore's language has been one of the most frequent questions asked by iPhone users.

Many people will just tell you to go to Settings and change it from there by choosing the desired language and set it as your phone's. That might change some stuff on the AppStore, but the labels for instance, those won't change.

Let's get to the point.
This tutorial will tell you how to change AppStore's language, including the labels.

—————————————————————

Step 1: Go to Settings.

Step 2: Tap Store.

Step 3: Tap your Apple ID and then Sign Out.

Step 4: Now Sign In and choose Create New Apple ID (you won't complete this, don't worry).

Step 5: You'll be asked to choose your store (country/region), choose the country which has the language you want the AppStore to be in.

Step 6: Click Next and then Agree.

Step 7: Fill in the information until you're asked to insert your credit card info.

Step 8: When you reach the credit card info, click Cancel and exit the Create New Apple ID section.

Step 9: Go back to Settings and sign in with your actual Apple ID.

Step 10: Open the AppStore.

—————————————————————

Your iPhone's AppStore should now be in the language you wanted, including the labels.
I tried this once and it worked for me.
If it doesn't work for you, leave a comment and I'll try to find another way to do it.

  27. Didnt work. I am signing in using my old account so I didn't create a new one anymore. That's why I still can't change it.

    ReplyDelete
  28. You don't have to create a new account, you just have to start doing it until you reach the payment information. Then you just cancel the account creation and the AppStore should be now running the language you chose.

  43. I have several iPads and IPhones and they all react differently with this tutorial. one additional step is sometimes needed. I want my Swiss App Store display English menus.

Once you signed out of your Apple-ID, between step 3 and 4. Go under Settings/General/International/Language and chose English if you want the App Store to display English menus. Then follow the next steps from step 4 of the tutorial. Sometimes you have to restart the phone between step 3 and 4 for the changes to take effect. It is also important that you sign in your account inside the settings and not in the App Store itself or it will switch back to the App Store language...

  57. Hi! Had the same problem, but it turned out to be even easier! Log in on your ID, then go to Apple ID-View ID-change country (choose one with prefered language) then on the credit card page cancel the process (Cancel and exit the Create New Apple ID section.). Worked as a charm!

  62. I have to defend Max on this one. I was trying to change it from Chinese to English. When I clicked "Create new Apple ID", it took me to a page in Chinese. I can't read Chinese, especially not the characters. However, when I clicked "View ID", as Max did, it asked me to agree to terms, change my country and then put in the credit card information, which is when I canceled the operation. I went back tot he app store and it's all in English :)
