Can't Add Gmail Account [Solved]

Recently Google made some changes on its Privacy Policy and those changes affected the way Gmail users can receive/send their emails on their phones and also on desktop apps, such as Windows Mail and Outlook.

I personally had issues with this once my iPhone 4 stopped receiving emails on my Gmail account.
It kept showing me the message «The user name or password for "imap.gmail.com" is incorrect.». If you also got this message and can't figure out how to fix it, keep reading.

First, you'll have to go through 2-step verification.

—————————————————————

Step 1: Log in to your gmail account. on your computer.

Step 2: Go to Account Settings. (Click your email on the upper right corner.)

Step 3: Under Personal Settings, you'll find a link named 2-step verification. Click there.

Step 4: Set up.

Step 5: After setting up 2-step verification, click in Create passwords.

Step 6: Scroll down and write the name you want to the password. This is not relevant, you can type random characters!

Step 7: Click on Generate password.

Your password will be in a yellow field, you don't need to remember it once it will be used only once.

Step 8: Go to the application where you wanna add your Gmail account (iPhone app, Windows Mail, Outlook, ...).

Step 9: When it asks you for your email and password, type in your email and then type the generated password.

If this doesn't work for you:

Step 1: On your web-browser (you can use it whether on your phone or computer), type the following URL:

Step 2: When you see the message Verification Complete, you have 10 minutes to create a new password and type it in your applications.

After doing this your phone and desktop email applications must accept your Gmail account with no problem.
